Using Patrons

Charities often need a guiding hand to work with supporters and patrons. Many charities lack confidence with dealing with influential and wealthy people. Lesley has years of experience working closely with patrons and influential supporters to develop their relationship for charities.

A large medical charity approached Lesley asking for help with their relationship with a key patron. Over the course of two years, Lesley worked with the patron to approach her contacts, advising the patron on tactics and level of donations. She was also able to steer the patron to other individuals who donated to the appeal, linked to the patron's own contacts. The appeal raised £1million and cost £19,000.

Income generation increases and long-term benefits are far-reaching, including increased staff confidence and motivation.

As well as devising a plan for getting the best out of their patrons, Lesley can carry out a review of existing patrons, help to recruit new ones, and accompany staff on visits to see patrons.
